Get Total Volume! Thickening base coat and volumizing mascara in one. Up to 12X more volume. All AVON mascaras are hypoallergenic and ophthalmologist-tested.

TO USE: Apply mascara using sweeping upward strokes for shocking results.

Avon Supershock Mascara, as of this writing, has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars out of 535 reviews.  pink-line Tips To Apply Mascara:

Prevent clumps & make your mascara last longer!

  1. Bend the brush of the Avon SuperShock mascara wand so it’s easier to control. As you pull the wand out of  the mega-effects-bendingtube, gently bend the tip so it’s perpendicular to the handle. When applying layers to upper and lower lashes, the new shape will make the brush easier to maneuver and get into the hard-to-reach areas, i.e. the small hairs toward the inner corner of your eye. (FYI: Avon actually has a mascara that comes with a bending brush handle called Mega Effects.)

  2. Wipe off excess Avon Supershock mascara on a tissue to prevent clumps. A brand new bottle of mascara can transfer a lot of extra product on the wand for the first few uses, causing clumpy lashes. So before your first coat, gently glide the brush over a napkin or tissue to remove any excess formula.

  3. To keep your lashes curled longer, wiggle the brush back and forth at the base of your lashes – then swipe to the tips. If you coat your lashes evenly, it will weigh down the tips of the hairs, which causes the lashes to straighten out after a few moments. The best way to hold a curl is to apply a thicker coat of mascara at the root of the lashes and a lighter coat toward the ends. To do this, wiggle the wand back and forth at the base – then lightly comb through to the tips.

  4. Layer waterproof mascara on top of your regular formula to make your mascara last longer and make it easier to remove at the end of the day. Waterproof formula is great at holding curl and keeping your mascara from smearing throughout the day. To help with removal at the end of the day, try applying your normal mascara first and finishing with a coat of waterproof. (Avon Supershock Max Mascara in Waterproof can be found here.)

How To Fix Clumpy Mascara & More

Let’s be honest, every tube of mascara has this happen over time. The issue is it dries out and begins to make ugly lumps. To help stop this, don’t pump your mascara trying to get more on the wand. Basically, you re pumping more air into the tube making it dry out even faster.

Even though you should replace your Avon SuperShock mascara every 3 to 4 months, I used to replace mine much sooner just to prevent drying out and creating undesirable results. Guess what? There’s an easy fix! Add a drop or 2 of Visine (or any brand of eye drops) into the tube, and then rub the wand around inside to mix it up. The eye drops soften the mascara liquid, making it apply as if it were a brand new tube!

To deal with smudges under the eyes, use a waterproof Avon Supershock mascara. For the mascara “chips” falling on your cheeks, make sure it’s not dry. (See above to remedy that.) If that’s not the problem, then it may the type of mascara you are using. Lengthening and microfiber containing mascaras are especially prone to shedding. Switch your formula and see if that helps.

If your lashes stick together, use a lash comb. Not only do they separate out each eyelash, they also remove excess product to give you feathery, natural-looking lashes. If you suffer from “over-dramatic” lower lashes, the solution is 2 mascaras.

Think about it: Expecting one product to do 2 different things (add volume on top but none on the bottom) is not going to work. So, use another mascara with a thinner formula (and a smaller brush) for your lower lashes. Remember: Always apply Avon Supershock mascara to your top lashes first.

For excessively, dry brittle eyelashes consider using a lash conditioner. Yeap, they make it! It’s like a night cream for eye lashes. It helps keep them feeling soft all day. You can also wear it under your Avon SuperShock mascara for additional hydration.

When your Avon Supershock mascara won’t come off, use an oil-based makeup remover, rather than an alcohol-based one. Avon’s Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion is a favorite for this purpose as it moisturizes around delicate eye area as it removes eye makeup. Some also use straight coconut oil to remove stubborn mascara, but because it can block pores it may not be suitable for every skin type.

If your Avon SuperShock mascara smudges your glasses, then CURL your lashes. It not only prevents them from brushing against your lenses but it also opens up your eyes making them look particularly gorgeous. A really great tool like the Avon Eyelash Curler is easy to use and gives curl that will last all day. Curl first, then apply your Avon SuperShock mascara (as doing it the other way around causes lashes to break).
